Lindsey: We are only on day three of this extravaganza and we've already had so many amazing adventures with friends. Let's start off with the car ride...
You can't leave BR without hitting Simple Joe for breakfast (if you're ever in town stop by and tell them Ella sent you). Our whole crew loaded up in the car and got ready to roll. N'SYNC made it at the last second, Jesus didn't show up before take off time, and Obama said he prefers to be called Barack these days.
Thank goodness for a quick trip to Shreveport and their American Rose Garden b/c I could barely take this any longer: (https://youtu.be/ZbOQkEWQyCM): I do realized she is going to hate me at some point in life for uploading these and as soon as we stopped the video she asked to do another cut but I didn't have it in me! Also, thank you so much Esther, I'm not sure how I would have survived a cross-country trip without the human bear having her own untuned ukulele. I've now dropped my goal of singing a song on the top of our lungs every hour after the human bear picked to sing America the Beautiful for 45 minutes straight while forcing me to stop and correct her when she messed up. Praise the Lord for stop number 1!
Adventure Stop #1: Shreveport, LA: American Rose Center
Sticking with the plant-based eating so we had to shove our faces in the car before we got fussy.
The majority of us decided to look around and journal while others went off to smell the roses. This was very close to the interstate and an easy place to check out for something free and different.
Adventure Stop #2: DFW Area, Texas
Yesterday was a whirlwind of fun all around the DFW area. We've been to Lewisville, Carrolton, McKinney and now Frisco. We have hit up an awesome water activity in every place and are so thankful for our friends in each spot. Can't wait to come back again!
Special thank yous to: Tara, John (your kiddos), Betty, Joe, Gigi (especially for letting us crash your amazing party: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), Katy, and Kyle! We had a blast catching up and enjoying time together.
Ella: The human bear said she didn't have anything to add to this today (I believe she is still recovering from yesterday's wildness), so here are just a few quotes from the road:
What was your favorite part of the rose garden? "Spending time with you and Beast Mode." aaawwweee tear
Just driving along and she must have had an idea, "Can you please hand me Obama? I'm trying to do something back here."
While leaving a bathroom and seeing the sanitary napkin dispenser, "Hahaha who the heck would pay 25 cents for a napkin? That's ridiculous!" None of you want to know the 20 minute convo that had to follow this one up.
Passing a car lot WAY into Texas, "OH, maybe Daddy's Subaru is in there!" She wanted to stop and check but that was just not the kind of adventure I was feeling.
If you know the human bear at all, she was highly disappointed to see Gordan Mckernan signs all the way into Shreveport and I quote, "Dudley and DeBosier better get on it!"
Beast Mode: Having a hard time giving up the cocktails, but enjoying the lavish lifestyle!
Jump rope challenge began today! Who knows what adventures tomorrow will bring...We hope everyone is doing well and we are sending love from the road:)
