Lindsey: Fear not regular readers, we got nine and a half hours of sleep last night so I was feeling like a million bucks on the road the today…that is until I realized I was SO exhausted last night that I forgot to plug in the tablet and the iPad. Not only are the kids spoiled folks, I WANTED THAT DAMN TABLET TO BE FLOWING WITH THE NETFLIX but it wasn’t so. Ultimately, I’m glad it went that way b/c the human bear decided to make a lost poster for Jason b/c she was missing him. I don’t know why that made me laugh so hard.
Front: Jason Ashton Wesley (pic of Jason) Lost: Call 715-8064 if you find him. Back: Oh No! He is gone. Where is he? Please help me look for him. All I know is that he is in Baton Rouge.
Adventure Stop #13: Metero Crater: Winslow, Arizona
So close to the interstate and may be my favorite one so far. Beast Mode is a firm believer in conspiracy theories so she decided to stay in the car for this one. An artists take on what it would be like to experience this: https://youtu.be/WmTIVNn2VCM
The widest part of the crater is over a mile wide and astronauts train there to simulate lunar craters.
Heather, have you seen the side by side penny maker set up? I think of you every time I see one of these now. Also, if you zoom in to the left one, they were advertising the bracelets! I didn't even get a chance to tell about the info you gave me and she had already purchased one in the gift shop. New favorite...thank goodness they only had the adult size so that is going to be mine when she forgets about it, cause I'm so fancy.
Adventure Stop #14: Bearizona and a random scenic stop: Williams, Arizona
We are obviously a family of bears and the tiny human bear found this hilarious. We didn’t go in but we got off the interstate to check it out…apparently that is all we need to make something an adventure stop now. Here are a couple of cool things we HAD to stop and see with no purpose but to be amused.
Beast Mode has found a retirement spot for herself!
I can't believe you can see views like this from the side of the interstate. It was so gorgeous.
I was trying to prove that I am actually here too but this wasn't exactly the beautiful scenery pic I was hoping for...better luck next time!
Adventure Stop #15: Rosie’s Den Cafe: White Hills, Arizona
Very cool spot. Not only was there a full restaurant but there was also a separate bar I witnessed in use at noon when we stopped. Entertaining and terrifying at the same time. I used to be like them. Ella made friends with some bikers while we were there.
She asked the owner if she was allowed to climb on the train out front. Look closely if you missed her in there. ha
Adventure Stop #16: Nevada State Line: Boulder City, Nevada
I had no clue that we were going to pass right by or through the Hoover Dam. For some reason it seems completely uninteresting to me until I started seeing all the signs. I looked everywhere for it and didn’t realize until we passed through that I couldn’t see the damn b/c we drove ON IT. Who knew?! Boulder City was a cool spot to pass through full of very pretty views.
Adventure Stop #17: Basil’s House: Henderson, Nevada
Ella's very first real friend Basil happens to live right outside of Vegas now. We LOVE this family and are so happy to be able to catch up again.
Reunited and it feels so good! Look at how these cuties have grown. I think the similar stances are hilarious. I did not pose them at all.
Bedtime stories with friends are the best. We have lost ALL sense of time and place. I def. called Kim from the road today and made sure to call her office line so I wasn't blowing up her cell phone at work...it's Saturday and I had no clue! We may need some structure soon.
Ella: already passed out from excitement of seeing Basil and Daphne.
Beast Mode: Researching how much it would cost to live at Bearizona.
Maybe the other two will be back on board with blogging tomorrow. We miss all of y'all:) Goodnight.
