I know we left you on a cliffhanger with the 'to be continued' on the last blog and then we had the nerve to go missing for a couple of days! By the title, I'm sure you can see that everyone interprets this next adventure very differently. When you have the most generous family and in-laws in the entire world, there are times you just throw your rules as a parent out of the window and let them all enjoy.
This was definitely not something in the road trip plans so the bear was VERY excited to find out about this one. I hope I showed my appreciation by staying as positive as possible and enjoying all of the family time we got together (which was all worth it and I hope Dax never forgets I was there for this first experience!) If you haven't figured it out yet, move forward into our next adventure at your own risk...
Adventure Stop #29: Disneyland: Anaheim, CA
Hey Kiddos, we are going to Disneyland!
AND staying overnight at this sweet spot! Uncle Ducky finished working and met us there and he already had goodies set up and waiting for everyone:)
The kiddos couldn't wait to get suited up and head over.
Everyone must wear their ears!
This castle was so much smaller than I was expecting...is DisneyWorld the same? I need answers. It did not seem to phase the human bear.
We thought Dax was mad from the heat but now that I'm looking back at all of the pics it's probably b/c he wanted to see everything and we were so rude to keep him in the dark like that (I, however, would not have turned down an adult sized one of those)!
And then there were rides (please excuse my lack of commentary, my brain and body are still in shock and not functioning properly since our return). How cute are these two ladies?
I feel like the guy saying, "You are dumbo #5" was getting a little too much enjoyment out of saying that to us but I found it very amusing at the same time!
Teacups! (https://youtu.be/Y2-e1EdgbR8)
The final smile before the roller coaster started moving for real. haha We may not be ready for these...
Can you find me in this pic?
How can Uncle Ducky NOT be one of the favorites for any person? He let her spray his butt until it was soaked and that may be the hardest she laughed all weekend. While waiting in lines there was also an always humorous attempt at leapfrog when two people are not similar in size (https://youtu.be/wXl49XNl854)
Day One: Round Two: Dreams and Nightmares Simultaneously
You MUST go back a second time in one day for fireworks and take the newborn on roller coasters (I think it's in the rule book)!
Doctor Mary, Uncle Ducky and Dax were the best! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride can be documented as their first family roller coaster ride:)
Pretty!
Sadly, this balloon met it's demise less than 10 minutes of being home last night to a ceiling fan...it was more tragic to some than others!
Day Two: Dreams and Nightmares Simultaneously
At this point we are all in so why not order room service (I also didn't think my legs were ready to move yet and we had another full day of Disney ahead...that's just good decision making) I really hope this girl gets a good job some day to keep up with the lifestyle she's already living.
This day was full of characters
Thank goodness for spots like this (cool air, indoors, big screens playing the hits https://youtu.be/SbtaMePrIMU, I think we all enjoyed the couches and calm for a bit). I had a lot of respect for Anna's boots...they were on point, who knew she has a cursive A on the back?
and their plastic homes and valuables
The human bear matched Minnie's house perfectly so I asked if she wanted to move in and she said all of her furniture was too hard. It was worth a shot!
Look out Dax, she's a wild one behind the wheel!
I was certain we had seen it all...and then, A WHOLE NEW PARK. What?! (insert different individual opinion emojis here)
On the way out, she was able to make one purchase (with her own $) and she chose wisely! We've already had multiple lessons on how to read time. She's ahead of most kids I know that grew up after the invention of digital clocks and cell phones and you know how I feel about an educational and functional purchase.
I am waiting on the tough lessons on the way home b/c she has now spent all but 3 dollars of her spend money and we have an entire cross country trip back home (yeah for life lessons!)
Goodbye Disneyland, it certainly was an adventure for all!
Ella: My mom & I went to Disneyland yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you. (these two pics are the definition of Disneyland hangover...there were many tears over the journal: totally missed the lines, scratched out all pictures, didn't write Ducky or Mary b/c she said she couldn't spell it...is it ironic that DisneyLand destroys imagination? haha maybe it's the exhaustion)
(when I walked in the room to check on the journal she was just in the sheets, what are you doing?) Ella: I'm just laying here not moving or doing anything. hahahaha
Beast Mode: I'm really starting to dig this Barack guy, I just didn't realize how cool he was at first. From relaxing in our hotel to teacups and dumbos...I enjoyed Disneyland more than I thought I would.
This will never not be funny. Reunited and it feels soooo good! Not sure if you can tell this is mid-flight on a ride but it was.
Both of the kiddos were excellent on the ride home and I immediately walked to the store across the street to reward myself for adventure #29! We all survived and had a great time. Forgetting all of the sarcasm, I am truly thankful for Doctor Mary and Uncle Ducky, their generosity to take care of us, and all of the fun memories they've helped us create on this trip. I wouldn't change a thing:)
