Before you panic about the title, our car is completely fine (externally)! It is out bodies that are breaking down. We spoke out loud that we were leaving San Diego and I immediately got a strange infection that started traveling down my finger. I felt like such an ass having Doctor Mary perform a minor surgery on me before we left (but I was still going to let her do it!) Don't worry I didn't post the nasty part...all you grossly entertained people by things like Dr. Pimple Popper can e-mail me directly for the picture of what came out of my finger. haha
That was a minor breakdown, then about an hour and a half outside of San Diego (at some place called Cajon Junction) the human bear's body decided to purge all of the bad decisions her mom allowed her to make over the last twenty four hours. An unplanned:
Adventure Stop #31: Middle of Nowhere but thankful it was before the Mojave Deset, CA
Here's a before (I should have been tipped off with this quiet disastrous look) and after (I only posted the human bear's reenactment b/c again the other pics are gross: you weirdos can text me if you want to see vomit: yes, I'm the evil mom that documented it, judge away.
While pulled over at a gas station, we were lucky that we have the amount of supplies in the car that we do...as I'm tossing away Ella's outfit in a dumpster she is alternating between 1) sobs of "please don't throw away my bunny! I LOVE IT!" and 2) "can I eat those pretzels?!" As you can see, she was saying those things half naked from the car while I was wiping sludge off of everything (at least the natural scenery was gorgeous for such an event)!
We felt pretty satisfied that all of our bodily functions were straight to return to Vegas! Thank heaven for one of the nicest families on the planet for still accepting us even though I couldn't be certain the human bear wasn't sick. We made it back to Basil and are praying that was just a reaction to too much sugar and emotions instead of something we passed along!
As soon as we stepped out of the car in Vegas, the human bear said, "I do NOT like the air here." (no one likes the air here, it is SO hot) and, although SO VERY GRATEFUL for all of their resources, the last thing I wanted to do at this point of the day was the following...
Thank you most wonderful husband for letting us borrow your car for this trip and Happy Father's Day! (I believe your car is now cleaner than when we left BR) These two stuffed animals looked like they just rolled off the Vegas Strip and the bunny's head came halfway off in the dryer. Ella, "Oh I really need Gram to sew two things for me now, can we go there when we get home?" Not to mention she kept interrupting this cleaning process to ask for TREATS! I'm currently praying for patience.
We spent one night with Basil and family and were so excited that Kai was home this time:) These are some of our favorite people that need to move back to BR (yes, that it only the start of my guilting process).
Always hate to say goodbye to good friends! Thanks so much for the fun.
We've headed halfway to our next adventure to make the drive easier tomorrow. My forearms are actually tired tonight from the CRAZY wind in Arizona today. I felt like the car was blowing all over the road. We stopped to enjoy it for a little while. I'm not sure if you can actually see it in this video but the wind was blowing so hard that the human bear accidentally drooled and of course it slapped right into my MOUTH! I'm not sure what punishment I'm receiving these last couple of days but I promise to straighten up my attitude: (https://youtu.be/9lkZvgPWcNY)
I love that it looks like it may just drop off a cliff on the other side of this wall. I promise that was not the case. (https://youtu.be/SFEOS7c7nPA)
We found a cute little motel in the middle of nowhere. Ella, "Oh everything looks so old like the way things used to be back in the day...I always wanted to see a place like this." There are bears everywhere here...she loves it!
I'm adding this pic just to prove I am actually washing her hair and we got the waterfall themed room at this amazing motel. I'd recommend this spot to anyone traveling.
and just in case we don't get a chance to blog tomorrow b/c it will be a long day. Here's a video for all of you great father's out there! (https://youtu.be/QOL4O10vFEE) We love you all and are so thankful for all of the fathers in our lives that have led us to these happy adventerous places b/c of your support.
