Annual ATL Thanksgiving

No one puts the fear of being fit into the human bear like Coach and Renay and the idea of the day after Thanksgiving workout! That is why before we hit the road, Bear had a makeshift barbell in the living room to do a little training. She is entertaining and creative folks. I was asked to immediately send these pics and videos to Coach.

Please text these to Coach!

Ready to roll...

Stop #1: Mississippi Welcome Center: Osyka, MS

Stop #2: Medgar Evers House: Jackson, MS

What did we learn? Medgar Evers was a civil rights activist that was assassinated because of his beliefs and for fighting for equal rights for Blacks. The museum was not open but we were able to learn about some of his life from the plaques and take in the gravity of the situation standing on the drive way where he was shot.

Myrlie Evers, Medgar's wife, moved to California after his assassination and later donated the house to Tougaloo College where they turned the house into a museum. They have tours through the museum and it is a National Historic Landmark.

Stop #2: Hal and Mal's: Jackson, MS

Lunch spot for a little jazzy place to eat.

Stop #3: La Quinta is how we roll; who knows where, AL
