COVID-19: Week 5

This weeks theme: Marry for Love! Thank goodness for Jason. I've started wondering if other people are starting to worry about their choice of spouse now that they've been locked in a house with them for 5 weeks and, although Jason probably IS second guessing his choice, I'm just feeling thankful he's the one I'm stuck with for this pandemic.

What Are We Doing This Week?

Although green IS my favorite color, this was NOT what I meant to do...stupid user error b/c I let the water get too low and it burned up something in the motor. This is the lovely color you get when your pool water isn't circulated for two weeks. For all those that like to get Jason worked up about pool costs, tread lightly, kids are expensive too and we only had one so this is an investment in something that brings me joy!

Here is where the theme of marrying for love comes in...

Not only does Jason not want a house with a pool, he also doesn't like to try things especially if he doesn't know what he's doing but I said we can fix this on our own so that's what we did! Look at all those wires and these are the ONLY tools we have...unfortunate for him, he loves me! I appreciate you.

BUT LOOK WHAT WE WERE ABLE TO DO WHEN WE WORKED TOGETHER WITH LOVE...

Anyone who believes that intro to this pic is a damn fool and does not know us AT ALL! We couldn't even get the bolts off to get into the motor...although I DID correctly diagnose the issue and order the correct parts, fun phrases that were said during the 5 minutes we tried to start this, "and WHAT about that how to youtube video made you think we could do this ourselves?" Moral of the story: Pool Man Larry is my new therapist and this is where I will manage my emotions when quarantine life gets crazy!

The human Bear did a little drop off to Paw Paw Wesley to cheer him up since he couldn't have his regular Easter service!

Keel and Emily for the win on this game. Who's She is still a hit in this house. Think of Guess Who but with BADA$$ women and you have to guess based on their accomplishments and achievements.

How precious is this guy? Thanks for the anniversary present Dana! He picks this up with a pair of scissors, fights to get it open without touching it and then promptly places the scissors in the dishwasher. This makes me laugh but we are COVID free in this house so far...we shall continue!

I'm continuing to do less and less in the kitchen. I'm probably just looking for a snack here and not even helping!

The state license plates have been exchanged for hot air balloons! Clearly there is plenty of time these days.

It's TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER TO WORK DAY! Whohoo, I needed a break and to crank out some work myself. Again, tack on to the list of greatest husband awards. I NEEDED that day.

Somebody has an anniversary coming up and Jason says it's the year of the Fitbit! WHOOHOO folks, again marry for love b/c this man does NOT like fitness! Love my gift Boo. Thank you!

I gifted the human Bear my old Fitbit and she has NO middle ground just like her parents. haha Day 1 she hit 10,000 steps by staying up past bedtime and running back and forth in her room and Day 2 is over 11,000 and still counting! I asked where she finished on day two and it was over 15,000 steps but she apparently is keeping track on post-it notes in her room...I don't have the heart to tell her that's what the Fitbit is for. Jason LOVES to hand write things that can be done by technology so I'll let her develop the skills.

Multiple obstacle courses and forts are popping up at a rapid rate! The stir crazy is REAL.

Jenga! Someone, who will remain nameless, is way too anxious to play this game. One of us stresses and takes FOREVER to go, the other rips one out and slaps it on top and the final Bear is somewhere in the middle. Can you guess which of the 3 Bears goes with each behavior?

Sometimes we find comfort in the strangest things...the laundry basket had a big week in this house! The human Bear always struggles with teeth and she is getting a new one so we had a few days of low grade fevers and this made it better! Fever is gone and hyper is back. No need to worry!

Getting caught in the rain! This is not our house or carport but it is for sale in our neighborhood and we had to duck in there when the downpour started. Learning to dance in the rain!

What Are We Eating This Week?

Red Lentil Soup with Shallots and Red Pepper Flakes (it got cold for 24 hours so I NEEDED a soup) I'm the only one that liked it...this is common here.

When I told y'all I could NOT freestyle with cooking, this is how bad it is! I did not have two large carrots but I had all these baby carrots so I had to take enough and shape them like two large carrots to make sure I was using the correct amount. Whew, I don't know if it's being in here too long or cooking too much but I can't stop laughing every time I see my compulsive behaviors in full force! I hope everyone else out there is doing OK.

Breakfast is the same every day: oatmeal but you get to put your own fresh fruit toppings and seeds on it so you better be grateful! Anyone who knows the other two Bears knows they don't like sleeping or eating so this is most mornings as soon as it's time to eat. They are VERY MUCH awake and alive and even help prepping breakfast but as soon as it's time to sit and eat at least one of them goes missing. On this day, I captured them both long gone before a single bite was taken.

What Are We Debating This Week?

When the two lost Bears finally make it in for breakfast, the convos that ensue usually go something like this, "Who is the most famous person ever from Baton Rouge?" "Definitely Boosie" "Seriously, that's the MOST famous person from BR?" and then the next time I get on my computer this is what is pulled up...the human Bear does not take our answers to heart, she must do research!

What Are We Wearing This Week?

I showered AND washed my hair AND put on clothes that are not workout clothes. I felt like it should be documented for this great accomplishment! Who knew the me 6 weeks ago would be impressed with current self for such tasks? I'm also sporting a new jawline that is making a comeback from all this working out!

The human Bear says she's created a new style but I'm pretty sure it's already been done. This IS a Happy's Beer Chip Original Necklace though...orders can be placed through her kids messenger that continues to blow up my phone at the silliest of times!

When asked he says, "this is just how I feel!" (a plastic cage of emotions)

We are also wearing what looks like a house arrest anklet, 80's arm bands, camo headband, multi colors and patterns while dancing with chicks.

Finally, wearing a unicorn onesie and the SAME FACE! I laugh when people say she looks like me b/c I think they have the same head. Must be the dramatic high speed talking and flailing arms that's me.

I couldn't catch the laughing like I wanted to b/c they are both VERY aware of a camera at all times!

Who Are We Talking To This Week?

Missing school friends so the FB Kids Messenger game has been STRONG. It does not care if I am going to sleep or on a work call, my phone has blown up and it's rarely for me at this point in the game! I looked over to see a lama floating above the human Bear's head and her friend looked like some sort of dancing bear or beaver. Never a dull moment!

What Are We Making This Week?

I think the human Bear is fearful that this will never end and it's turning into the Hunger Games (even though we've eaten more than EVER!) She is going very Katniss and if you don't hear from me next week, you should come looking. Found this homemade bow in her pile of goodies for the week...

How Are We Celebrating This Week?

When you hit your 10,000 steps all rules are off! Celebrate by dancing in the street. That's the rule.

What's Blooming This Week?

It's amazing what these things will do in a day! I've had to do nothing and this is what we get. The back yard is blooming and growing like crazy and I love it!

Who is getting excited for berries?! I AM, I AM

That time we forgot we moved and never had time to go back to the old house and sort through things...this is what happens when the human Bear has to entertain herself and has just been gifted an old Fitbit.
