COVID-19: Week 7

We are still feeling grateful over here and trying to bring our best attitudes while staying home. We needed a few things to get done so we ventured out in a strange new world. The conversations that happen before you see people these days are odd but necessary. Our little family is feeling pretty skeptical about returning to the real world any time soon but I guess we will just see how it goes with those limit pushers ready to beat down the doors of the hair salons and malls! Good luck but don't call me:)

I think we've gotten most things we wanted to done before people start assuming the virus disappears with a reopening order. We hope everyone stays safe out there and makes decisions based on the most vulnerable people you know...

What Are We Doing This Week?

The human Bear has started to make a purse out of duct tape. She hadn't heard of people making entire prom dresses out of duct tape so we entertained ourselves with Youtube for awhile and those things are AWESOME!

THERE WAS ONE PIECE MISSING! My compulsive behaviors can NOT handle this. Who wants this puzzle? I must remove it from the premises!!!

Two Paw Paw birthdays this week meant social distancing visits. Less than 10 people, more than 6 ft apart...it's weird to walk up to people you usually hug and stop at a strange distance. Uh, Happy Birthday Paw Paw!

When boredom strikes and you need to pack TWO bags to play outside...

Remember that time we moved and then forgot to move out completely? Trying to rent out a place is also strange during social distancing. Got to see some of my peeps though and it was a good excuse to catch up with masks on and 6 feet apart! haha Again, so strange

Jazz Festing in Place! It was a great day:)

Jenga in the Jungle!

Why do you call her Bear they ask...Two house, two handles! I'm pretty sad about this microwave at our new spot b/c it's so old and awesome. Where does one fix such a thing that's out dated with old parts? All these thoughts while holding in any overreactions so the human Bear doesn't feel bad b/c ultimately it's a stupid thing that doesn't matter and she didn't do it on purpose. Still a Bear though!

Team Marathon Week. Now THAT'S my kind of marathon. Splitting the miles with others is the way to go for me!

This picture looks like it came out of a time capsule.

These kiddos just want to run and play so badly. Social distancing sidewalk chalk was entertaining for about 5 minutes and then they disappeared back to their own things.

Two Cuties: Reading A Year Down Yonder. Relevant topics to today and so funny the vocabulary you have to define when you read a novel about right after The Great Depression.

Thanks Auntie Connie! We got a money tree for our anniversary and the human Bear is helping me decide where to plant it in the yard. Surprisingly she put it in her tree house. She already takes most of our money any way so we will see how this goes!

Trying to finish "Little Fires Everywhere" when your spouse has to clutch his chest and run through the house at tense moments is a VERY difficult feat!

Then we did this and I had to clutch my chest and ask for breaks! Kidding, it was a good one. Dr. Les Parrott for the WIN!

Apparently Week 7 is when you are bored of board games unless you create them start to finish! Blue is safe, Green is trivia and orange is dare...there are almost 100 of these throughout the house and you must roll the die and execute!

She steals my heart when she gets excited about her weekly Zoom meeting and writes it in her planner! This girl LOVES a schedule these days:) Thank you to her teachers that are clearly putting in TONS of work to pull off some distance learning.

Just because they are precious. You're welcome!

Fort Updates...now it just seems like the dinning room is moving into the living room and injuries occur during clean up, I've seen enough forts for the rest of my life!

What Are We Wearing This Week?

Me "Are you running away?" Human Bear, "Yes" Me "I'll see you when you get hungry" She proceeds to grab ONE cutie and dump a bag of pennies into a ziplock.

A SHORT time later, I found her like this in the treehouse. She claims she was there for over 2 hours but needed to change outfits. That sums up the story of the time the human Bear ran away...to the backyard, for 20 minutes, and changed clothes.

Getting dressed up for work! Thank you Zoom for allowing me to wear my workout shorts. I ALSO found an exciting setting that autocorrects your face...yeah, you read that right. I always wondered why everyone else looked so fabulous on there. Go to your preferences, video and you can checkbox "touch up my appearance" haha what is the world coming to?

If you knew Byrdie, then you know!

What's Happening In The BackYard This Week?

Lakefront property for a few hours!

The birds are mocking me! Not only are they still stealing berries but they are CLEARLY relocating them to a stump and having an entirely catered party on it for me to find the remnants each morning!

Everyone is getting figs this year!

What Are We Eating This Week?

Sweet potatoes are winning every day for me: greens, black beans, and guac DONE!

Human Bear, "Can I have a demitasse please?" Me "Is that a new toy? I don't even know what that means!" Then Jason sends me this picture. To google I go...AGAIN. Just to keep up with the human Bear. Look it up people!

Look at all those pretty colors! Eat the rainbow. Homemade Greek dressing

I keep wondering what to replace tortillas with...A POTATO folks: made some oil free pizza sauce (seriously blend some spices and tomato sauce and paste it's not that impressive) then slap it on white potatoes or sweet potatoes and veggies you like. Bake, DONE! We even tried some with hummus for those that don't like "red sauce"

She asked for us to leave the kitchen and trust her. For our anniversary, she melted dairy-free (for me) chocolates in a bowl, rolled strawberries in them and put them in the freezer. So thoughtful! That is def not the way professionals make them but it was a start and I was proud of the attempt and thoughtfulness to keep it "healthy" for me:)

A proud face was worth it! Yes, dairy free chocolates are a thing and I found them at Albertson's. They taste the same to me. All the processed stuff we eat these days started somewhere...I like to find it and eat that instead.

I still have cravings and give in thought...I've been good for so long and now when I need a "treat" it's oil free peanut butter and dairy free chocolate chips. haha This is real life.

We haven't forgotten about you veggies and hummus. Pretty much every meal's intro!

We hope everyone out there is doing OK with sanity and safety. Keep on keeping on! I've had a lot of people messaging me about my eating so I have an email ready to roll on tips, tricks, and programs I've followed if anyone wants it just let me know. LinDecoteau@gmail.com

We miss y'all!
