Going on hour twelve of sleep and I got to drink my coffee without a single request. I am ready for more museums today...almost!
Can we just laugh at this for a moment? Between the FULL fridge from Trader Joe's and the closet set up, I'm sure the people that work here are wondering if we are ever leaving or where the heck we are going when we do!
Before committing to that whole crazy "I'm ready for more museums" idea, let's just get a little relaxing on because I have a 20-year high school reunion coming up and need a little more recovery time to receive extra information with a positive attitude.
Mani-Pedi! Now you are talking my language kid. In addition, REALLY good prices and one of the only places open before 9:30. Sadly, you know we've BEEN up for hours already even with that 12 hours of being knocked out, how many hours are even in a day on these trips?
There was a stop at Target that isn't even being documented but MUST be mentioned b/c with all of the walking we have done, I LITERALLY wore a whole in my jeans from walking so much. I guess I will take the blame for why the Human Bear wears the same clothing an obscene number of times!
The first installation we walked through asked you to look at the sculptures and asked if artwork has to be beautiful or if there could be beauty in the discomfort. After looking at the pieces, you could go back and answer the question in a notebook...
The exhibit to reflect on:
Lot's of wiring, lighting and pointy objects...
She would NOT be outdone by the other response she saw written in French. The translation I was given from the Human Bear is in the caption. I have no clue if it is accurate or not.
I will soon need a translator just to be able to travel with her. She was so excited that she can "FINALLY have private conversations out loud" b/c I won't understand anything if she speaks in French.
On to The African Textile Lab which had more cool technology to create designs that were updated in real time projected on the wall.
"What?" The Human Bear (that LOVES to know things) also loves to judge things before reading about them. I think she wanted this to be a poop emoji...we just can't all get what we want.
"Whoa...a REAL Mummy coffin!"
This was a cool set up. We could watch a short clip to learn about the Holocaust and different menorahs and pieces that were actually housed in this exhibit. The short clips would also tell about how they acquired the pieces.
The man with the broken nose...
After two multi-story buildings full of exhibits from around the world and every time period, I was ready to roll...and then there was outside! And yes, it was HOT.
